What jekcms is
jekcms is a content management system for blogs, news sites and review sites. It runs on ordinary PHP and MySQL hosting and needs no Composer, no Node.js and no build step. Your site and its data stay on your own hosting.
The following jobs usually take separate plugins in WordPress. In jekcms they come with the core.
- SEO: article, news, product and FAQ schema, the sitemap, canonical and hreflang tags are generated when you publish. The editor shows an SEO score and what is missing while you write.
- Images: every upload is converted to AVIF and WebP and served at the size the page needs.
- Speed: page caching and image optimisation need no extra setup.
- Themes: 15 ready themes. Colours, fonts, header, footer, menus and sidebar change from the admin panel with a live preview.
- AI: connect Gemini, OpenAI or Claude with your own API key and have it prepare drafts. A draft is never published until an editor approves it.
- Migration: a WordPress site comes in as a single file exported by the jekcms Migrator plugin.
- Automation: with the REST API, webhooks and the MCP server, n8n, your own scripts or Claude Code can send drafts to your site.
Who it is for
jekcms is built for people who publish regularly and care about speed and search visibility: personal bloggers, local and niche news sites, product review and affiliate sites. For agencies running several client sites, the Professional license covers 10 sites.
How it was built
I started building jekcms in November 2025 and the first public release came out on January 2, 2026. More than 700 releases have shipped since then. Every release passes a check of about 260 steps before it goes out: each of the 15 themes is opened in a real browser, text contrast is measured in light and dark mode, and installation is tested on different PHP and MySQL versions.
Updates are signed. If the site stops responding after an update, jekcms detects it and returns to the previous version. If a license expires, the site does not go offline; it moves to the free edition and you can keep writing and publishing.
Pricing and the free edition
The free edition covers one site and three themes with no time limit and no credit card. SEO, image optimisation, the Content Wizard, WordPress migration and the plugins are included in the free edition too.
